Drummond Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning is a family business owned by Chris Drummond and Amanda Drummond that has started in 2006 with one thing in mind to be the best at what we do and do so at an affordable price to everyone. One and a half years ago tragedy hit our family as my father in law had congestive heart failure and my wife Amanda moved 60 miles away to take care of him before he passed away. 2 weeks following his passing my Mother-in-Law had been diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer. She has been going through chemotherapy for the last year and a half and it has taken a toll on her body and despite this the cancer has advanced.
Many of my former customers knew my Mother Jeanne Drummond as she has always been there to help with the business and had been a big part of it until this year. Se had lost her voice and can’t speak. After countless doctors visits with no answers I took her to hospital and insisted that she be admitted to find out the cause for her problems. She was in hospital for 2 days before her health insurance company denied her coverage despite neurologists insisting she stay in hospital. This delayed any diagnosis or treatments for months as her health continued to decline. She was officially diagnosed with Bulbar Palsy from probable ALS. This has led me to fight for her the best medical care and help her rising medical bills and speed up her appointments to slow the progression of this disease.
Through the rest of the summer we are going to be raising funds to help with my mother-in-law and mother with medical expenses and transportation costs to and from doctors appointments.
